This is a very popular cinnamon roll recipe that is frequently requested by people in my family. These rolls are really quite simple to make, so they can be whipped up for a quick evening snack or they’re elaborate enough for a holiday breakfast or brunch. A lot of people stray away from making their own cinnamon rolls because they think it’s going to be a difficult process. I promise that these rolls are going to be simple, and they’ll be a hit.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Line a pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Flour: Mix the flour together with 1 tbsp white sugar, the baking powder, the baking soda and the salt.
White sugar: You will use 1 tbsp of the sugar for the dough mixture. The other half will be used for the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Baking powder: Measure the baking powder into the dry ingredient mixture.
Baking soda: Measure the baking soda into the dry ingredient mixture.
Salt: Measure the salt into the dry ingredient mixture.
Milk: Five tbsp of milk should be added into the dough mixture.
Butter: Two tbsp of butter should be mixed together with the milk and apple cider vinegar. Let sit for a couple of minutes before adding to the main mixture.
Apple cider vinegar: The apple cider vinegar gets added to the butter and milk mixture (only half the butter).
Mix all the ingredients that are being used for the dough. Turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll the dough until it is the same thickness, into the shape of a rectangle.
Butter: Spread the rest of the melted butter on the top of the rolled-out dough.
Brown sugar: Combine the brown sugar along with the rest of the white sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of the dough.
Cinnamon: Combine the cinnamon with the brown sugar and white sugar. Sprinkle onto the dough.
When the dough is evenly coated with the cinnamon and sugar, roll the dough lengthwise into a long roll. Slice the dough into rolls, and place on the baking sheet an inch or so apart.
Bake (in preheated oven) at 350 degrees for about 13 to 15 minutes.
Always serve these rolls fresh out of the oven and with a cream cheese frosting.
