Lumpia spring rolls are a delicious snack or side dish from the Philippians. Filled with ground beef and vegetables, they can be served with sweet, sour or hot sauce. A light snack with a thin crepe like shell and a robust and hearty filling.

Heat oil in mid size pan Roll lumpia, most packs of wrappers have directions on how to roll. Seal with egg wash once oil is heated, fry until golden brown all around.

Step 1

Add seasonings to ground beef. I start with about 1 tbsp of garlic and onion powder and 1/2 tbsp black pepper. I usually go by smell.

Once cooked, drain fats

Add about 1 to 1 and 1/2 bags coleslaw mix. My little cheat so I don't have to cut the veggies.

Step 4

Stir until well mixed. Add about 1/2 cup soy sauce and 1 and 1/2 tbsp sesame oil. Taste mixture and add more of each to taste.

Step 5

Wrap lumpia. Most packages have instructions how to wrap them. Seal with egg wash. Turn on oil in pan while rolling to heat.

Step 6

Once oil is heated. Fry until golden brown on all sides.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with sweet and sour or sweet chili sauce.
