After all the ingredients have been added, bring the soup to a low rolling boil for 1 minute. Then reduce cooking heat to medium-low. Cook for 20 more minutes. Add in 2 cups of water as needed, to maintain a liquid soup consistency. If the ingredients begin to absorb the chicken stock and solidify, simply keep adding water. Depending on your cook-top and where you live, you may not need to add in much water, if any. Finally, add salt and pepper to taste, and stir. Total cook time should be 40 minutes or until the chicken and carrots are tender and can be easily cut with a fork. Reduce the heat to low to keep warm.
