There are a lot of Italian Love Cake recipes out there, but this is one of the most simple and delicious ones that I’ve ever used. The great thing about Italian Love Cake is that it typically uses a boxed cake mix to start the recipe. From there, you create a dessert that is so sweet and delicious, your family and friends will be requesting it for every holiday and gathering in the future. With amazing layers that will make your mouth water, this is sure to become one of your favorites to make and eat. Think chocolate cake meets pudding and cheesecake!

Step 1

Cake Mix Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the box. Pour the cake mix in a 9x13 inch baking dish. You can spray the inside with canola oil, or line the pan with parchment paper.

Step 2

Ricotta cheese Combine the ricotta cheese with 4 eggs, ¾ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Spread the ricotta mixture over the cake mix. Bake the cake and ricotta mixture according to the cake’s baking instructions.

Step 3

Eggs The eggs will be added to the ricotta mixture before spreading on top of the cake mixture.

Step 4

Serving Suggestions

It’s a good idea to chill the entire cake before serving it. You can add some sprinkles on the top to make it look festive for whatever event you're serving it for.
